Miller time: America’s Bode finally gets his New Hampshire hands on Olympic gold

by

21 February 2010

America’s Bode Miller has finally won the Olympic gold medal he’s craved for so long, slaloming to victory today at Whistler in the super combined. Miller, 32, has been an object of fascination for years, for reasons good and bad, and was certainly an entertaining chap to try to pin down when we spent a memorably weekend try to do that in Val D’Isere a couple of years ago, reflected in this piece at the time for The Independent.

His win today keeps the good times rolling at these Winter Games for the USA; he’s got three medals in Vancouver now, while pin-up Lindsey Vonn has also been a star.

Miller’s gold can be read about in more detail in umpteen places including the Wall Street Journal, at MoreThanTheGames, and in the Boston Globe.
