Davids seeks 108th Cup Goliath of Premier League era

Ahh, the FA Cup and the scent of blood.

Already this season Sunderland, Blackpool, Newcastle and West Brom from the Premier League have been taken down a peg or four by opponents from lower divisions.

Those four scalps bring the total number of Premier League clubs humbled in the Cup to 107 since the League was formed in 1992-93.

A season-by-season record of the giant-killings is below: there were as many as 12 in 1994, and 10 each in 2000 and 2008, and as few as three in 1993 and 1998.

Detailed lists of the most slain clubs, and the best slayers, can be found elsewhere today.
