Wolves pointless but hopeful heading into Arsenal game

Wolverhampton Wanderers are spending their third season in the Premier League in two different spells and there are just four of their opponents over the years from whom they’ve failed to gain a single point. Two of those clubs are currently out of reach because they’re Charlton and Southampton and they play at a lower level now.

The other two are Chelsea and Arsenal, and Arsenal play at Molineux on Wednesday. With the Gunners’ form a little flaky and Wolves’ resistance dogged, until very late, at least, perhaps a point is nigh.

Wolves’ previous Premier League results against Chelsea and Arsenal

2003-04: Wolves 0 Chelsea 5; Chelsea 5 Wolves 2; Arsenal 3 Wolves 0; Wolves 1 Arsenal 3.

2009-10: Chelsea 4 Wolves 0; Wolves 0 Chelsea 2; Wolves 1 Arsenal 4; Arsenal 1 Wolves 0.

2010-11: Chelsea 2 Wolves 0.
