NFL-EPL dual owners finding success on just one side of the pond

by

4 January 2010

With the NFL regular season ending last night, it strikes us that there is something quirky about the standings: every owner that also has a stake in an English Premier League club has endured an awful season back home in American football. The Cleveland Browns of Randy Lerner (Aston Villa) finished with a 5-11 win-loss record, and bottom of their pile. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the Glazer family (Manchester United) finished 3-13 and bottom of their pile. And worst of all, the St Louis Rams of Stan Kroenke (Arsenal), finished 1-15, and yes, bottom of their pile. You can check the stats here, sorting by Division / 2009 Regular Season / Overall.
