It’s now an odds-on bet that Wayne Rooney will leave Manchester United in the January transfer window. William Hill price that at 2-7. The odds on him staying beyond January are 5-2, following Sir Alex Ferguson’s press conference and interviews today.

Hills offer 7-2 that Rooney will still be a United player on the first day of the 2011-12 season, with their other prices reflecting the fact they think Manchester City are favourites to sign him.

It’s is a 7-4 shot that Rooney will start next season at City, a 9-4 shot he will start next season with Chelsea, a 5-1 shot he’ll be at Real Madrid, with 9-1 Barcelona, 20-1 Internazionale, 50-1 Arsenal, 100-1 Everton and 100-1 Liverpool.

In response to sportingintelligence’s tweet earlier about a suggested personal ad (“Unhappy Manchester-based striker looking for move after problems and row with manager. Seeks similar for swap.”), Hills have also made it a 20-1 shot that Rooney and Carlos Tevez will trade clubs in January.

The odds on Rooney’s next club regardless of when he leaves United: City 13-8, Chelsea 15-8, Real Madrid 9-2, Barca 6-1, Inter 14-1, Arsenal 40-1, Liverpool 66-1, Bayern Munich 66-1, Everton 100-1. (Loan deals count).
